Tuition for this workshop is only
$49 (6-9 students)
$44 (10-12 students)
$39 (13-15 students)
Initial tuition will be $49 for all students. Refunds will be issued the day before the class based on the number of students registered.

Refund policy:
  • Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the workshop date are eligible for a refund (less a $10 cancellation fee).
  • Cancellations made 14 to 30 days prior to the workshop date are eligible for a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the workshop date are not eligible for a refund.

What to Bring

  • iPhone and/or iPad with TPE already installed
  • Paper and pencil for notes
About the Class
This class will show you the various capabilities of TPE. It will be task based with hands on exercises.
This class is limited to TPE on an iPhone or iPad. TPE is not as feature rich on Android devices and will not be covered in this class.
This class will not cover TPE 3D or The Photographer's Transit
What is TPE?
  • Helps you plan outdoor photography shoots in natural light
  • It's a map-centric sun and moon calculator - see how the light will fall on the land, day or night, for any location on earth
  • Night mode - plan astro photography shoots (constellations, Milky Way, etc.)
  • Line-of-sight analysis - defines your shooting direction and shows the topography along your shooting direction
  • Visual search - tells you the exact dates and times when sun or moon will align with your subject
  • Maps - view different map types such as Apple or Google Maps
  • Time/direction of sun, moon, and galactic center rise/set
  • Moon phase and % illumination
  • Civil, nautical and astronomical twilight
  • Save all your favorite locations
  • Golden hour duration
  • Crescent moon visibility

Personalized Experience

In order to provide each student tailored and individual attention, the workshop will be limited to 15 participants. A waiting list will be available.

About Me

I am a passionate photographer with an extensive knowledge of landscape photography. I have lived in the Northwest my entire life. My passion for photography goes back to the early 1980's. I am the Coordinator for the Portland/Vancouver Photography Meetup Group and has led several outings and workshops throughout the Northwest. I am also an instructor in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. I have been teaching TPE for the last 4 years.
