  • How to use aperture priority mode to control depth of field
  • How to use shutter priority mode to control shutter speed for that creamy water look
  • How to read the histogram
  • How to accurately set focus for tack sharp images
  • How to use a circular polarizer filter to reduce glare and bring out colors
  • Guidance and instruction on composition
  • Post processing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (2-hour Zoom session scheduled after the workshop)

Refund policy

  • Cancellations must be made in writing.
  • 30 days or more prior to the workshop: Refund less a $25 cancellation fee.
  • 7 to 30 days prior to the workshop: 75% refund.
  • Less than 7 days prior to the workshop: 50% refund.
  • Once the workshop starts, refunds cannot be issued. I make every attempt to insure weather conditions are ideal for this workshop. I monitor weather forecasts from several sources. Conditions can change without warning and in an instant.

About the Workshop
Learn how to photograph waterfalls from one of the best places on earth to do it from. We'll hike to 9 waterfalls (4 of which you can walk behind). Spring is the perfect time to visit Silver Falls State Park as all the waterfalls flowing with the spring runoff. Springtime is also a great time to photograph nature's beauty with all the wonderful flora and fauna.
We'll be shooting from an unique and special location.
There will be hiking involved (5.3 miles total). There are hills and stairs involved.
Steady rain in the forecast will postpone this workshop.

COVID-19 Statement

All of my workshops are outdoors and are limited in size (depending on the location). I am fully vaccinated (including bivalent booster). Social distancing is encouraged. If you registered for a workshop and become symptomatic the week of the workshop, contact me so we can work out an alternate plan.

About Me

I am a passionate photographer with a focus on landscape and astro photography. I have been leading landscape workshops throughout the Northwest since 2007 and have lived in the Northwest my entire life. My passion for photography goes back to the early 1980's. I am the Coordinator for the Portland/Vancouver Photography Meetup Group and have been teaching Photoshop and Lightroom since 2007.
