About the Workshop
The focus of this workshop will be capturing fall colors at their peak from seldom photographed location near Glenwood, WA. Two things need to happen for this to be a successful workshop. (1) fall colors at their peak (or close to it) and (2) good enough weather that Mt Adams is visible.
I know what you're thinking, why are there are so many dates listed for this workshop? The reason is fall colors peak at different times every year. In 2023 I shot peak colors from this location the first week of November and in 2024 it was the third week of October.
I will be scouting the area prior to the workshop to determine how good the colors are and then come up with the best date for the workshop. As for the weather, I rely on several sources for weather and sky forecasts. But mountains can create their own weather and weather forecasts are not 100% reliable. Even after selecting a date, the date could change due to the weather forecast. So please be flexible on dates.
Certain equipment is required for this workshop. See “What to bring” on the next page.
We'll start the workshop with a meet and greet in Hood River, Oregon. From there we'll caravan to the workshop location.
This workshop includes a 2-hour post workshop Zoom session where we can share images and I can demonstrate my post processing techniques
The prime Milky Way season at Mt St Helens happens once per year and only for a few days. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity.
